Land of Medicine Buddha is affiliated
with the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition
(FPMT). This is an international organization of Buddhist meditation centers, monasteries, publishing houses, healing centers, hospices, schools and other related activities founded in 1975 by two Tibetan Lamas, Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa
Rinpoche. Originally purchased in 1983 at the request of Lama Thubten Yeshe, Land of Medicine Buddha has grown from 55 acres then, to 170 acres of pristine redwood forest and meadows nestled on the edge of the Santa Cruz mountains. Lama Yeshe’s original vision for this land has been expanded by Lama Zopa Rinpoche and today the Center offers a strong spiritual program, a home for the dying, a school, group rentals and
guest accommodations facilities. Included in this vision is the 100,000 Stupa Project.
